Product Description

A coffee table in a small lounge has to earn its floor space twice over: once as somewhere to put things down, and once as the thing the whole seating arrangement points at. This one manages both at 70cm across, and being fully round it has no corners at all to catch shins in a tight walkway.

The top is hand-laid buffalo bone inlay — white fragments set individually into deep black wood tones and worked into an intricate leaf-and-vine motif that radiates out from the centre of the circle. It is old-fashioned decorative craft sitting on a very modern frame: four slim gold-finish iron legs joined by a cross stretcher, geometry against ornament. Raising the top on that open base is what keeps a patterned piece from feeling heavy; the rug and flooring carry on visibly underneath, so the table reads as an object in the room rather than a block in the middle of it.
