Product Description

A wooden garden parasol that tilts with the sun — so you stay in the shade without moving your chair.

This 200x150cm rectangular wooden parasol is built for patios, lawns, and garden dining tables where you want reliable, adjustable shade without the fuss of a heavy cantilever setup. The rectangular canopy covers more of a standard dining table than a round parasol of the same width, making it a practical choice for anyone who eats outside regularly during the summer.

The solid wood pole and bamboo ribs give it a natural, classic look that suits both traditional and contemporary gardens. Unlike powder-coated aluminium frames, the wood ages well and doesn't show chips or scuffs in the same way. The 38mm pole diameter fits most standard garden table parasol holes, so it's likely to drop straight into your existing table without needing a separate base.

The tilt mechanism is one of the most useful features on any garden parasol. As the sun moves throughout the day, you press the button on the pole and angle the canopy towards the sun rather than away from it — keeping shade over your seating without repositioning the whole parasol. For patios that catch afternoon sun from the west, this makes a significant practical difference.

At 4.5kg it's light enough to move and store easily, and the pull-rope opening means setup takes seconds. A base is not included — for a 38mm pole, a minimum of 10–12kg base weight is recommended, with heavier bases better suited to exposed or breezy gardens.

Key Features

  • 200x150cm rectangular canopy: Better table coverage than a round parasol of equivalent width — ideal for 4–6 seat garden dining sets
  • Adjustable tilt mechanism: Angle the shade to follow the sun throughout the day without moving the base or the furniture
  • Solid wood pole — 38mm diameter: Fits most standard garden table parasol holes; natural finish that ages well outdoors
  • Bamboo ribs: Flexible under wind load — absorbs gusts rather than fighting them, which extends the canopy's lifespan
  • Lightweight at 4.5kg: Easy to move, store, and put away at the end of the season
  • Easy pull rope: Opens and closes the canopy in seconds with no crank needed

FAQs

What size base do I need for this parasol?
You need a base with a 38mm pole opening. A minimum weight of 10–12kg is recommended for everyday use — go heavier (15kg+) if your garden is exposed or regularly breezy. We stock a range of parasol bases and weights separately.

Is this a tilting parasol?
Yes. Press the button on the pole to tilt the canopy in the direction you need. This lets you follow the sun as it moves during the day — particularly useful on east or west-facing patios where the sun angle changes significantly between morning and afternoon.

Does the 38mm pole fit a garden table parasol hole?
Yes — 38mm is the standard diameter for most UK garden table parasol holes. It should fit directly without an adaptor, but check your table's specification before ordering if you're unsure.

Is a wooden parasol better than aluminium?
It depends on your priorities. Wood gives a more natural, classic look and ages well. Aluminium is lighter and more resistant to moisture over many years. For a traditional garden aesthetic, wood is the better choice — just store it or cover it over winter to prolong the frame's life.

Can I leave it outside overnight?
Close the canopy and ideally bring it inside or use a parasol cover during heavy rain, strong wind, or overnight in autumn and winter. This significantly extends the life of both the canopy fabric and the wooden pole.

Is assembly required?
Yes, simple assembly is required. Instructions are included and it takes around 10–15 minutes.
