Each plate has its own filling port and screw cap, so filling and emptying is straightforward. When empty, the full set weighs just 8kg — easy to move or store over winter. Four connecting hooks hold the plates together around the parasol pole for a secure, tidy fit. Assembly is required; cross base not included.

Sand provides more weight per plate (18kg vs 14kg for water) and is the better choice if you're in a windier location. Water is easier to source and drain. A combination of both gives the maximum ballast of up to 84kg total. Fill fully for best stability.

How do I empty the plates for winter storage?
Unscrew the cap on each filling port and tip the plate to drain. Water drains quickly; sand may need to be scooped out. Once empty, the full set weighs just 8kg and can be stored flat in a garage or shed.
