Product Description

PawHut Enclosed Stainless Steel Cat Litter Box

A stainless steel litter tray with a front entrance, top exit and enclosed surround to help contain scattered litter. The 201 stainless steel base is easy to wash, while the included scoop and deodoriser bag support your regular cleaning routine. An enclosed design is not every cat’s preference, so check the measurements and access requirements before choosing.

Dimensions and fit: check before buying

  • Overall external size: 60.4 cm long × 40.4 cm wide × 41.8 cm high.
  • Stainless steel tray size: 59.5 cm long × 39.5 cm wide × 15 cm high. These are the listed tray dimensions, not a verified measurement of the usable internal floor space.
  • Front entrance: 24.3 cm across × 24.1 cm high.
  • Top exit opening: 22 × 22 cm.
  • Top cover: 23.9 × 23 cm, 1.7 cm thick.

Allow additional space around the front entrance and above the box for your cat to exit comfortably and for cleaning access. Usable internal floor dimensions, enclosed headroom and net product weight have not been verified; please request confirmation before ordering if these are critical to your choice.

The UK listing for this model specifies cats under 7 kg. Weight alone does not establish a comfortable fit: your cat should be able to enter, turn, dig and squat without feeling cramped. As a general welfare guide, choose a tray around 1.5 times your cat’s nose-to-tail-base length, using the usable internal length rather than the external footprint. Do not assume the extra-large label makes it suitable for every large breed.

Lid, entrance and top-exit guidance

The front-entry and top-exit layout helps catch loose litter from paws, but it cannot eliminate tracking. Keep the top exit clear, with sufficient overhead space, and check your cat is comfortable using the intended route before relying on this as their only tray. Do not assume the front opening provides an unrestricted two-way exit or force a cat to use a route they avoid.

Enclosure can provide privacy and contain scatter, but it can also retain smells inside. Some cats prefer an open tray. For kittens, older cats or cats with limited mobility, check the entrance threshold and whether the exit requires jumping; an accessible low-sided tray may be a better choice. Follow the supplied manual for fitting or removing covers, and do not assume lid-off use or adjustable door modes are supported without checking it.

Noise expectations for vigorous diggers

This is not a silent litter tray. Claws or a scoop contacting a metal base can make an audible scraping or tapping sound, particularly with vigorous digging. No model-specific noise test or decibel rating is available. A stable, level position and a non-slip mat underneath may help reduce movement and floor-transmitted vibration, but will not eliminate contact noise. Place it away from bedrooms if night-time digging is likely to disturb you.

A practical cleaning routine

Scoop out waste at least twice a day, and more often if needed. Empty and thoroughly wash the tray at least weekly, or sooner if soiled or odorous; an enclosed tray may need more frequent cleaning. Clean the surrounding floor and litter-catching areas too. Stainless steel and the deodoriser bag do not replace waste removal or fresh litter.

Wash with warm water and a mild, unscented detergent using a soft cloth or non-scratch sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before refilling. Wipe the enclosure and accessible seams, following the supplied manual for disassembly and care of the deodoriser bag. Wash your hands after handling used litter.

Stainless steel care

Protect the finish by avoiding steel wool, abrasive powders, metal scourers, bleach and harsh acidic or alkaline cleaners. Do not mix cleaning products or leave cleaner residue on the surface. Rinse and dry promptly after washing. Stainless steel can still scratch or suffer chemical damage, so treat it as durable rather than scratch-proof or maintenance-free.
