This grey dog crate has open wire mesh on all sides, meaning your dog can see out and air circulates freely. Same internal dimensions as the enclosed grey version, but with wire sides rather than solid MDF panels — a better fit for dogs who settle more easily when they can see the room around them. Does it fit your dog?

Measure from the nose to the base of the tail and add 10 to 15cm. For height, measure floor to the top of the head when sitting and add 10cm. Those are your minimum internal dimensions.

This crate suits medium to large dogs up to 55cm body length and 25kg. Breeds that typically fit include Cocker Spaniels, Springer Spaniels, Cockapoos, Beagles and Bulldogs. If you are between sizes, go up.

Before you buy

• Already crate trained? The open wire sides mean your dog can see out in all directions. Good for dogs who settle better with full visibility. Leave the doors open for the first few days.
• Not yet crate trained? The open wire design is easier to introduce than a fully enclosed crate, but a standard wire crate remains the simplest starting point for first-time crating.
• Dog that needs privacy? The open wire design offers no den-like seclusion. If your dog settles better in an enclosed space, the solid-panel version of this crate may suit them better.
• Flat-faced breed (French Bulldog, Pug, Bulldog)? Open wire on all sides gives excellent ventilation. Check your dog's specific measurements against the internal figures before ordering.
• Chewer? The wire mesh is more resistant to chewing than solid panels, but the MDF base and frame are not chew-proof.

Practical questions

Is the finish pet-safe?
PawHut does not publish independent safety certification for the board or finish. We recommend airing the crate for 24 to 48 hours before first use, especially if you notice a new-wood smell on unboxing.

Can I use it outdoors?
No. Wood-based panels warp and swell when exposed to moisture. Indoor use only.

How do I clean it?
Wipe the crate body with a lightly damp cloth. Do not soak the panels. The cushion is machine washable.

How long does assembly take?
Typically under an hour. All fixings are included.

What if it does not fit my dog?
