The roof is built from 6mm twin-wall polycarbonate panels — hollow-channel construction that insulates, diffuses light, and holds firm under a snow load of 20 kg/㎡. The UPF 30+ rating blocks harmful UV rays while keeping the space beneath bright and airy rather than dark and oppressive.
The two-tier ventilation design isn't decorative — the raised crown allows warm air to escape and draws a natural breeze through the canopy, making a genuine difference on still summer days.
The powder-coated aluminium frame is built around 7.6 x 7.6 cm columns with 17 x 17 cm stabilising feet. It anchors to hard surfaces via included expansion screws, or to lawn and soil via included ground stakes. For timber decking, specialist wood screws are required and should be sourced separately.
Assembly takes 2–3 hours with 2–4 people. Planning permission is not typically required under permitted development rights, though we always recommend checking with your local council if you have any doubt.
