Who Makes Vasagle Furniture?
Vasagle is a brand owned by Songmics, a home goods manufacturer that also produces products under the Songmics and Feandrea names. The company was founded in 2016 and has grown rapidly across Europe and North America, selling through Amazon and specialist retailers like us.
Their products are designed in Germany and manufactured in China — which explains the combination of European aesthetic sensibility and competitive pricing. They tend to target the 25 to 45 age bracket who want furniture that looks the part in a modern home without paying high-street prices.
What Does Vasagle Actually Make?

The good: Most pieces use particleboard or MDF surface with a laminate finish, paired with powder-coated steel tube frames. The steel frames are the standout — noticeably sturdier than comparable products from cheaper brands, with generally clean welds. The industrial aesthetic (matte black frame, rustic brown or greige surface) is well executed and holds up in person.
Assembly is typically straightforward. Most pieces come with clear instructions, pre-drilled holes and all the hardware you need. Our customers consistently report that assembly takes 20 to 45 minutes for most items.
The caveats: The laminate surface can mark if you are not careful — particularly on lighter finishes like beige and cream. Scratches show on darker finishes like matte black. This is not unusual for furniture in this price range, but worth knowing if you are putting a desk in a busy family home.
Vasagle Desks: Our Verdict
Vasagle desks are their flagship product and for good reason. The range covers everything from a compact 80cm writing desk at under £50 to a 160cm electric standing desk with memory presets and a built-in power strip.
Best for home offices: The 120x60cm and 140x60cm computer desks hit the sweet spot for most home workers. Solid, practical, good-looking, and typically priced between £55 and £80. The optional storage shelves make good use of vertical space without cluttering the desk surface.
Best for gaming setups: The LED gaming desks with built-in power outlets are well thought out. LED lighting runs along the underside of the frame, cable management is better than most, and the monitor shelf is sturdy enough for a dual setup. Prices start around £100.
Best for sit-stand working: The electric standing desks are where Vasagle really stands out from the competition at this price point. Our founder Rob uses the electric height-adjustable desk every single day: "It is great — nice and sturdy, easy to use. The memory function means I just push a button and the desk goes up to my ideal height, then press another to bring it down. I have been using it for over a year and it is still as smooth as day one."
The 140x60cm model at £130 offers smooth height adjustment, 4 memory presets, and a built-in power strip — features you would typically pay significantly more for elsewhere. If you are considering a standing desk, Vasagle is hard to beat below £200.
Vasagle Bookcases and Shelving: Our Verdict
The cube storage units and freestanding bookshelves are well built and easy to customise. The 10 and 14 shelf designs are popular for home offices and living rooms, and the white and golden oak combination looks genuinely premium without the premium price.
One thing to note: the cube shelving units do not come with backing boards by default. If you are placing them against a coloured or textured wall, this is usually fine and actually a feature — the open back gives an airy, gallery feel. If you need to hide wires or pipework behind them, plan accordingly.
Vasagle Bar Stools: Our Verdict
A strong category. The industrial-style bar stools with matte black frames and upholstered seats are among our best-selling Vasagle products. They are stable, the height adjustment is smooth, and they look the part in a modern kitchen or at a breakfast bar. Prices from around £35 per stool.
The faux leather finish on the seat pads is good quality for the price — it does not crack easily and wipes clean. Practical for homes with children or pets.
Vasagle Storage: Laundry Baskets, Shoe Benches and Hall Trees
The storage range is one of the most underrated parts of the Vasagle catalogue. The laundry sorters — particularly the 100L and 150L three-compartment designs with removable liners and wheeled bases — are a genuine upgrade from the plastic laundry baskets most people default to. We use one at home and it is one of those purchases that quietly makes daily life a bit more organised. Prices from around £51.
The shoe benches and hall trees are a highlight too. The hall tree with its combination of coat hooks, seating and shoe storage solves a real problem in UK hallways where space is tight. Ours has been in daily use for over a year and still looks as good as when we first put it up.
How Does Vasagle Compare to IKEA?
This is the question we get most often. The honest answer:
Vasagle wins on: Style (the industrial aesthetic is more distinctive), steel frame sturdiness, the standing desk range, and price for like-for-like features.
IKEA wins on: Surface finish quality on higher-end lines, availability of replacement parts, and breadth of range.
For most home offices and living rooms, Vasagle represents genuinely good value — particularly for desks and storage. For statement pieces in main living areas where longevity matters most, IKEA higher-end lines may be worth the premium.

The industrial aesthetic is genuinely good, the steel frames are solid, and the range has matured significantly in recent years. The laminate surfaces are not indestructible, and anyone expecting solid wood quality at flat-pack prices will be disappointed. But for what Vasagle is — affordable, well-styled furniture that does its job and keeps doing it — it is hard to find better in the UK at this price point.
